Ruling Elder Elected as Moderator of 35th PCA GA
E.J. Nusbaum of Village Seven PCA in Colorado Springs was elected as the moderator of the General Assembly this year. I have no background in the history of moderators in the PCA but I thought it was pretty cool to see a ruling elder be elected Moderator. Almost like we are a two-office denominations.
Dear Sam:
It was pretty overwhelming to be elected as this years moderator. God was very gracious to me and an ever present source of help as the denomination went through the agenda this year.
The first moderator of the General Assembly was also a ruling elder, Jack Williamson. Ever since the first GA, the moderator alternates each year between ruling elders (odd years) and teaching elders (even years). We are definitely a two office denomination with plenty of input from both TEs and REs alike.
In Him!
EJ
